Sara Athans, Executive Director
Sara is a professionally trained actor, director, playwright, and theatre facilitator. She was born and raised in Anchorage but has since lived overseas and in the lower 48. She has her BA in Theatre & Dance (Directing) from the University of Texas, and her MA in Applied Theatre from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Sara says the best theatre looks like the people who make it.
Rochelle Connery, Associate Director
Rochelle was raised in Anchorage and truly loves Alaska. Even though this is home, she does make it a priority to leave Alaska once a year. This can be problematic because she loves to travel, but is scared of flying. Rochelle has a BA in Elementary Education, but is spending this season of life working with community theatre. She is not an actor, but does really enjoy the tech side of theatre. She believes that money is better spent on experiences and not on things. Community theatre is an experience that everyone can invest in.
Matthew Fernandez, Community Outreach Coordinator

Matt’s directing with ACT has included Paul Sambol’s Reach Out and Touch Someone and Bus Stop (2004). Matt has trained young actors for Clark Middle School, The Boys and Girls Club, McLaughlin Youth Center, Broadway Kids, Alaska Fine Arts Academy, New Direction Resource Center, Hope Community Resource, and the Daniel Academy in Atlanta Georgia. Matt has also personally coached teens for statewide acting competitions in Georgia. Matt is a former member of Scared Scriptless Improv Troupe, and LA Connection Comedy Club. Matt has performed in over 80 shows in 23 states.
Michael Noble, Technical Director
Alaskan Theatre changed Michael’s life. Originally from Pensacola, Florida; he realized his passion for theatre after seeing several shows in Anchorage. Michael believes that theatre is an ancient, natural, and vital form of storytelling that helps human beings feel more connected to and compassionate for each other. His deep belief in its importance inspires him to contribute meaningfully to Theatre every day.
