  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 cups oatmeal
  • 1 1/2 cups softened margarine
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 1/4 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups raisins
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup shredded coconut (new ingredient)
  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, and baking powder.
  3. Stir in oatmeal.
  4. In a huge bowl, cream margarine, sugars, and vanilla.
  5. Stir in milk.
  6. Gradually stir in flour mixture.
  7. Stir in raisins, nuts, and chocolate chips.
  8. Form mixture into balls by hand to make 16 to 18 huge cookies.
  9. Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
  10. Flatten to uniform thickness and round shape, pressing in on edges.
  11. Bake for 19-20 minutes.
